The Silk Road is a network of ancient trade routes that have connected East Asia to Southern Europe for the better part of 2000 years. Though silk was once the most lucrative item exchanged along the Silk Road, many other goods and ideas have traversed its length: paper, gunpowder, plague, religion, philosophy, science, and a pair of vaccinated cyclists with very concerned parents. This is their story.
